Endurance Racing

We compete in long-distance motorsport events to push limits and inspire resilience.

Fighting Neuromuscular Diseases

Every lap raises awareness and funds for those battling Neuromuscular Diseases.

Community Driven

Our strength comes from the people — fans, families, and partners supporting the cause.

Our Mission

Race For Strength exists to raise awareness and vital funding for Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) and other rare neuromuscular disorders. These conditions may be lesser known, but their impact is very real—challenging the strength, mobility, and independence of individuals and families every day.

Through endurance motorsport racing, every lap is a statement: those living with HSP and neuromuscular disorders are not forgotten, and they do not fight alone. Racing is more than crossing the finish line — it’s about pushing limits, inspiring resilience, and fueling hope for those who face battles far greater than the track.

Our mission is to unite fans, drivers, partners, and communities in one shared cause: to accelerate awareness, support research, and bring strength and encouragement to families navigating these rare but life-changing conditions.

What is HSP?

Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) is a rare group of inherited neurological disorders that primarily cause progressive stiffness and weakness in the leg and hip muscles. Symptoms can vary widely, but they typically involve increasing difficulty with walking and mobility over time.

There are over 90 known types of HSP, with genetic causes identified for about half. The condition affects thousands of families in the U.S., though it is often underdiagnosed or misunderstood.

About Us

Race For Strength was founded with a clear purpose: to combine a lifelong passion for motorsports with a mission to bring awareness, hope, and support to those living with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) and other rare neuromuscular disorders.

The team was created by Dustin Best, a 24-year-old driver living with HSP. From sim racing at home to time spent in rental karting, Dustin’s love for racing has always been evident. When karting became too physically demanding due to back and hip challenges, grassroots endurance programs like the 24 Hours of Lemons and Lucky Dog reignited his dream and revealed a new path forward.

Dustin’s journey with HSP is part of Race For Strength’s foundation. Both he and his brother were diagnosed with this rare genetic condition, which causes progressive mobility limitations, pain, and daily challenges. While Dustin’s specific type (SPG31) allows him to continue racing with moderate symptoms, many others with HSP face much more severe obstacles.

Race For Strength exists because of that reality — to shine a light on a little-known condition, to support families living with it, and to use every lap on track as a way to fuel awareness, resilience, and hope.

Every donation helps raise awareness, fund research, and provide support for families living with HSP and other neuromuscular disorders.
